Healing By Dezigns is a faith-driven, purpose-centered organization committed to transforming lives from the inside out. Our work is rooted in a holistic approach that addresses the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of those we serve, equipping individuals to rise beyond their past and step boldly into their purpose.

Founded on the belief that healing is a process, not a moment, we’ve walked alongside survivors of trauma, system-impacted individuals, those navigating reentry, and others on the margins of society. Through coaching, empowerment, fashion therapy, workshops, and restorative programming, we’ve helped countless individuals rewrite their narratives with dignity, support, and hope.

Our  Why

Independent Living That Heals:

The Crisis is Real: Homelessness surged 18% nationwide in 2024, affecting over 771,000 Americans on any given night. Right here in Pittsburgh, 1,026 individuals experienced homelessness in January 2024, a 12% increase from the previous year. Most alarming, 75% of shelter beds in Allegheny County are occupied by people experiencing "low-needs" homelessness—those who became homeless solely due to financial inability to pay rent, 2024 Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR).

The Gap We're Filling: In Pittsburgh, there are only 37 affordable housing units available for every 100 low-income renters. This isn't just a numbers problem, it's a human crisis affecting our most vulnerable neighbors HUD.gov for national statistics, Allegheny County Department of Human Services for local data and, Pittsburgh housing authority and regional planning documents for affordability ratios.

In response to this urgent housing crisis, we've expanded our impact through Healing By Dezigns Independent Living—a structured supportive housing solution for single individuals in transition. This includes veterans, re-entrants survivors of domestic violence, recovering individuals, and others seeking a safe, stable, and sober environment to rebuild their lives.

When housing becomes healing, transformation begins.
